Meet Khushboo Singh from Panna, Madhya Pradesh, India. Associated with the PSI organization for four years, Khushboo has been instrumental in training farmers across 10 villages in sustainable, organic agriculture. Using a smart projector, Khushboo screens educational videos that have successfully encouraged local farmers to adopt organic inputs like Ghan Jeevamrit, Neemastra, and Agniastra, leading to healthier crops and excellent yields.
Key highlights of Khushboo’s impact:
• Empowering Women: By screening videos about financial independence, Khushboo successfully motivated local women and facilitated the registration of three new Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
• Educating the Next Generation: She screens impactful films like "Thali Par Zehar" (Poison on the Plate) in local schools, educating children about the importance of organic nutrition gardens (Poshan Baadi) so they can inspire their parents to farm without chemicals.
• Boosting Income: Running her Biopesticide Resource Center (BRC) and conducting smart projector screenings has significantly increased her personal income.
• Livestock Care: Recently trained in indigenous dairy management, she plans to help farmers treat their livestock with home-based remedies. With big plans to connect more farmers with beneficial government schemes, Khushboo extends her heartfelt thanks to GIZ and Access Agriculture for the opportunity to grow from a grassroots worker to an empowered community leader.
