Launch of the “Cultivating Better Futures” Project in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso – The national television service has reported the official launch of a new multi-country initiative titled “Cultivating Better Futures”, set to run from 2025 to 2028 in Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire.

Project Scope and Objectives

The project will target 40 villages in Ziro province in Burkina Faso, focusing on:

  • Promoting climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive agriculture to increase resilience to climate change and improve dietary diversity.
  • Improving post-harvest management and processing of nutritious foods, reducing losses and ensuring food quality.
  • Creating economic opportunities for women, particularly among vulnerable populations, to strengthen livelihoods and community resilience.

Geographic and Beneficiary Focus

  • Burkina Faso: Ziro province (40 villages).
  • Côte d'Ivoire: Poro, Tchologo et Bounkani regions (45 villages)
  • Main beneficiaries: Women and vulnerable households, with a strong emphasis on inclusive economic empowerment.

Implementation Period

2025 – 2028, ensuring a multi-year approach for sustainable change.
