Meet Rajendra Singh, an inspiring farmer and Community Resource Person (CRP) from Panna, Madhya Pradesh, India. Working with the PSI organization and ERA, Rajendra uses a smart projector to bring vital agricultural knowledge directly to his community.

In this interview, Rajendra shares how screening farmer-to-farmer videos has transformed local agricultural practices. By shifting from traditional seed broadcasting to line sowing and utilizing raised-bed nurseries, farmers are now saving their crops from waterlogging and making weed management much easier. They are also reducing their dependency on the market by producing organic composts like Jeevamrit and Ghan-Jeevamrit at home.

Beyond farming, the smart projector has empowered Rajendra as a rural entrepreneur. By renting the equipment to other organizations, he has generated an additional income of INR10,000 to INR15,000.

Rajendra also highlights his recent Dairy Mate training, where he learned to prepare indigenous medicines for cattle. He plans to further increase his income by sharing this knowledge and facilitating the sale of milking machines. With a goal to expand his video screenings to 20 more villages, Rajendra’s journey showcases the true power of digital extension in rural India.

A special thanks to ERA, Access Agriculture, and GIZ for their continued support in empowering rural entrepreneurs.
