Utilization of firewood for cooking causes deforestation and damages the health of women in rural areas. In this video. I take you to N’Dali district, department of Borgou, in the north of Benin, where women are processing soybeans into cheese by using a lot of firewood. An improved wood stove is a new technology developed by GREDD ONG to help women process soybeans into cheese in the N’Dali district, which reduces the heat and smoke that harm their health and deforestation in the area.
