The Cereals Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA) is mandated to increase farm productivity and incomes of resource poor farm families in South Asia through the accelerated development and inclusive deployment of new varieties, sustainable crop management technologies, and policies. The project is being implemented by the CGIAR institutions of IRRI, CIMMYT, IFPRI and ILRI, and supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and USAID.

CSISA is constantly contributing to innovations under Conservation Agriculture practices -- eg. Laser Land Leveling -- that result in better natural resource management and reduced input cost.
