Young minds have the ability to retain knowledge and skills learnt in childhood, and use them later to offer solutions to existing problems. 4K club, Kuungana, kufanya, kusaidia, Kenya is Swahili for ‘Coming together, to Act, in order to Help Kenya.’ The revival of the clubs presents an opportunity of bringing extension into closer contact with the rural child. These clubs are important as a first step to bring young people together; they give them an outlet to express their views and problems, and form a base from which to build for the future. In this video we feature Mundika Girls Primary school in Western Kenya where 4K club members are engaged in sustainable agriculture through hands-on activities in the schools’ demonstration gardens.
