This video is about compost as an economic option for crop residue management. It shows the experience of smallholder farmers from the Nile Delta, who have found composting an economic alternative for the re-use of rice straw. Traditionally, in the area rice straw has been deemed as a worthless residue and smallholders farmers often resort to burning it or disposing of it in the canal, causing a negative impact on health and the accessibility to water.
