A Fairtrade Premium Documentary Film of Small-scale sugar producer organisations in Karnataka.
More than 70% of India’s farmers are small-scale farmers who face a mix of interrelated risks and challenges which threaten their reach to better markets and get better prices for their produce. In Karnataka, a state in the Southern part of India, 04 small-scale sugar producer organizations have started selling through Fairtrade since 2016 and today their produce is gaining a fair price along with Fairtrade Premium of 80$ per ton thus enabling the farming community to have more control over their lives and invest in activities that will help them grow socially and economically.
